This is by far the best nutrition and time and money saving, “hack” Shawna (my wife) and I utilize.
And now we have a white board in the kitchen for it.
Whiteboard with the first week filled in with variety of meal ideas.
On Sundays we plan our dinners for the week and it’s posted so we both know.
This allows for:
✅️Proteins out of freezer night before.
✅️Needed preparation ahead of time if Shawna cooking.
✅️Easier to put together grocery lists.
✅️Less “I/we forgots” that to lead to dining out.
✅️More control over nutrition.
✅️Ability to prepare ahead if needed.
Doing this saves us money because:
👉We’re not dining out, which also includes the price of gas.
👉It saves on calories because it’s near impossible to control calories from restaurants plus the foods generally aren’t filling for long so you end up eating again anyways.
👉It saves time because dinners out involve driving and waiting to be served.
👉It also saves time because you can make double batches and have left overs or pre-made freezer meals available for later.
I can’t speak go the ease of delivery services because in the woods delivered food is a deer on the lawn and trust me, it takes time to make ready for consumption.
But even that has time and nutrition costs associated.
It’s not about making big wholesale changes.
It’s little ones.
It’s the easy stuff done consistently that creates the changes we want.
Seek the basics and watch the advance show up over time.
